About Me
Hi, I’m Tanya. I’m the person behind Find Your English Voice.
I am a British native speaker and have been working with international professionals since 2011, first as a language teacher and increasingly as a specialist coach. Over fifteen years, I have come to understand something that most language courses do not address. The professionals I work with rarely have a language problem. They have a pressure problem.
They speak English well enough to do their jobs. What gets in the way is what happens under pressure. In meetings, in presentations, in the moments where it matters most, the English they have stops feeling accessible. They hesitate, lose their thread, or say less than they know. That gap between what they are capable of and what comes out under pressure is exactly what I work on.
My approach draws on three areas of training and experience. I hold a Cambridge CELTA and an Oxford TEFL qualification in Business English, which form the foundation of my language expertise. I hold an RSA Advanced Counselling qualification, which informs how I work with the psychological and emotional dimensions of speaking under pressure. And before I moved into teaching and coaching full time, I was a professional singer. I understand from the inside what it feels like when nerves disrupt your ability to do something you know you can do, and what it takes to build the kind of resilience that holds up when the stakes are real.
I am based in Devon, England, and work with clients worldwide via Microsoft Teams. I am also the author of Find Your English Voice and English ESL Small Talk, both available on Amazon.
